Boca Burger House. These two foodies were craving a good burger for our mid-day meal and found Boca Burger House in South Florida. Tucked in a strip mall of Spanish River Rd just west of US1, they’re well worth the trip.
There was some outside dining (which is also pet friendly) but we chose to go inside. They offer dine in or take out service. Dine in is table service, which is a bit different than most other burger joints in this category.
The inside has some booths along a side room and tables in the front. The place is painted in an electric green with all kinds of chalkboards with menu items, specials and food sayings. Really cool…and different.
They serve craft beers and wines with shakes and soda also on the menu. Of course burgers are the focus here., but they do have a larger than expected menu. Fish, chicken and vegetarian options looked tasty along with salads and flatbreads. We were craving a burger so started to narrow down our choices. I chose the Black Angus Burger that comes with lettuce, tomato and onion with their special sauce. I added on some bacon too.
Jeff ordered the Black n White Burger, which is their burger loaded with blue cheese along with lettuce, tomato and onion. We didn’t add on fries or the Flat Tire Beer Battered Onion Rings. We had a few more pubs to hit and didn’t want to fill up too much.
The service was great. Attentive and friendly, which is perfect for this place. The vibe is actually good to hang and get some beers too. Soon after ordering, I saw our burgers put in the window. These were HUGE!
When they put them down in front of us, it was hard to figure out how to start eating this monster. The toppings were sacked high and stacked neatly. The lettuce was a romaine heart and it looked cool laid on top sticking out the sides.
The toppings were really fresh and the raw onion was awesome…not too strong and a huge whole slice. The burger itself was also really good. Thick and juicy, cooked to a medium to medium-well. The meat had a great texture and flavor and the thick bacon was cooked perfectly.
Jeff also loved his burger and liked the addition of blue cheese. We both agreed that the bun was a little more firm than we normally prefer, but a softer bun might not stand up to all the toppings.
When we got our bill, we had to look twice. It was much lower than we expected. The prices are very reasonable here for the food…with only a few items on the higher $10 side. $5.99 for my burger (without bacon) is such a great deal. I don’t expect that price to last , due to the high quality and large portion. Next time we will try the onion rings or fries. Great spot to hit when you are in Boca.
