There’s not too many places open for breakfast in downtown Tampa. So I was really excited when I heard Holy Hog BBQ was now serving breakfast.
Breakfast is served at their take-out counter and the staff was beyond friendly (despite the earlier than normal hours). This is not like McDonalds where the items are pre-cooked and pulled from the warming bin. Holy Hog BBQ makes everything to order, so expect a short wait.
I ordered the Big Bad Biscuit (the nasty) which was fried chicken with cheese, egg and sausage gravy. OMG, the bag weighed a ton and this was the BIGGEST chicken biscuit sandwich ever. Honestly, I was full after just half the sandwich. Well worth $5.95
Not realizing how huge my sandwich was going to be, I also ordered the Guava & Cheese pastry ($2.59) which looked too good to pass up in the display case.
Very large portion and lots of sweet guava filling. Another great choice.
Holy Hog BBQ serves breakfast Monday through Friday 7am to 10:30am and is located at 302 E Kennedy Blvd, Tampa.
