Pho Viet is housed in an old classic Pizza Hut building and you can almost feel the pizza ghosts of years gone by when you step in. While we can give a not to some of the central focal points of the renovated space, such as the colored water feature, the paper trinkets on the wall seem a bit out of place and rushed.
Service at Pho Viet is strangely slow paced. The servers seem to be rushing around, but wait times for drinks and the bill were too long for the few tables of customers. Our soups took about 25 minutes and came out steaming hot.
We both ordered the Pho that is chicken based. Jeff’s bowl was the ‘combo’ with shrimp and chicken and mine had chicken and wontons. Both combinations were quite tasty and the wontons were huge. You can choose your type of noodle here, with the egg noodle being our favorite. The basil, bean sprouts and jalapeño on the side were very fresh and a must with any Pho.
Wonton Egg Noodle Pho ($7.95). Prices were very reasonable and portions were large. The menu also has traditional noodle, sandwich and stir fry options which will surly please most. But the slow service might be an issue for those on a time budget, so be sure to keep that in mind.
